SPAR Netherlands sponsors DolfinariumMariëlle Witjes, marketing manager of SPAR Netherlands, recently handed over a cheque for the amount of €10,000 to the general mananager of the Dolfinarium in Harderwijk to develop a project titled ‘North sea area’
Kincaidston Primary School, South Ayrshire UK, is cooking up a stormSPAR Kincaidston has ensured that Kincaidston Primary School’s ‘Cooking Bus’ Initiative will carry on for at least another two years! The Initiative is one of two, designed to engage children in the skills and knowledge required to make healthy choices and to encourage them to improve their health and wellbeing
Education
SPAR actively communicates its belief in the importance of being a responsible retailer instore and by being ideally placed in the community as a local retailer. Activities to raise awareness of current issues, such as the increase in diabetes.
We place a particular importance in educating children in relation to their responsibilities towards the environment. This can be through supporting tree planting initiatives or large scale events such as the Climate Change Conference in South Africa.Good Causes
SPAR has the resources and financial possibilities to support our local communities. Whether this is by building charity partnerships, donating money, supporting local charity projects or selling products whereby a part of the profit is given to charity, we at SPAR can contribute to a better community.
Even small activities, such as donating food which can no longer be sold instore to the zoo, make a big difference to members of our community who really need help and makes their lives better.Active Lifestyle
The association between SPAR and Sport Sponsorship is long established. There is a particularly strong link with SPAR and Athletics, both at an international level through the International SPAR sponsorship of European Athletics but also through national and local sponsorships.
SPAR is strongly associated with children’s and women's sports. Sport and exercise is not only good for the body and health but also for our social life, particularly team sports such as football, hockey or volleyball.
Our individual SPAR partners actively encourage our local community to exercise in order to benefit from it. This can be achieved by providing local teams with food, drinks and sports equipment.Volunteering
In recent years there has been increased interest by individual staff to help others in need. This is not only in the form of financial support but also by active and personal involvement.
Following this trend, SPAR actively promotes volunteering and motivates employees to leave their workplace during work hours to go into their community and give help wherever it is needed. Examples of this include becoming involved in educational projects or employees volunteering in events organised by SPAR within the community.
Different to the equally important activity of raising money and donating it to an organisation, volunteering enables us to give back directly.- Latest Case Studies
